Since becoming President, Louis Snyder has continued to provide leadership qualities so as to more fully develop the organization’s infrastructure in becoming a successful Military Exchange Sales representative Agency. The company employs 30 administrative and senior sales management personnel within the Virginia Beach and Dallas corporate offices, and an additional 140 field sales and merchandising professionals who frequent U.S. Military Exchanges within 15 countries while servicing our impressive portfolio of national brands.
Prior Experience
Louis worked part-time in his family’s department store (L.Snyder’s – Norfolk,VA) and at U.S. Sales Corp until he graduated from high school. He joined his family business on a full-time basis directly after fulfilling his university and active duty requirements in the USCG, where he continued his USCG Reserve status until 1975. He has held positions within the U.S. Sales as a Sales Representative, National Sales Manager, Vice-President, prior to his appointment as President/CEO.
Other Activities
Louis has been very active on local committees and boards, has served on the “Exchange Council” for the American Logistics Association (a global Military Exchange Trade Association), as well as past President of the Friends of Aiglon College, USA. He recently retired as the global President of the Aiglon College Alumni Eagle Association after 10 years and served for two terms on its Board of Governors in Switzerland. He continues to be a Board Trustee. Louis is an accomplished snow skier, an avid tennis player, and a long-term member of the Cavalier Golf, Yacht and Racquet Club (Virginia Beach).

Louis is married to Caroline Snyder, and proud father of three daughters Olympia, Mackenzie and Michelle, and stepdaughter Alexa and five grandchildren. Both Olympia and Mackenzie actively work in the family business as fifth generation employees. He is a native of Virginia Beach, VA.

She has an extensive history at USSC as a member of its Account Executive Team.

Heather’s background includes two years as President of HELM Mortgage Company and eight years in the banking industry. During this time she managed numerous call centers in various management leadership positions with three institutions. She was promoted to Bank Officer at Signet Bank in 1996.

Heather has served as past President of the Hampton Roads American Logistics Association (HRALA) board and continues to serve on this board. Furthermore, Heather represents USSC as a member of ALA Nationals Exchange Council. She is also an advocate for Autism Awareness and serves as a member of a number of local and national chapters.

As a successful member of our team for the past 15 years, Leslie’s former position included being our company’s top “Regional Manager”, responsible for the AAFES, NEXCOM and MCX Exchanges in the Washington, DC area.

Prior to coming to the Military Market, Leslie’s background includes 25 years of “retail” experience working for several national and regional retailers. She served as Store Manager and District Manager for a regional specialty chain, Kitchen, Etc., where she gained extensive training for her current role as our Housewares Account Executive. Leslie also served as District Manager for Victoria Secret Stores, where she opened 15 new locations in five states over a four year period.

Dave was appointed to the USSC Sales Team to become a dedicated Account Executive for our growing LG Electronics Military Exchange business. His sales territory is focused on our growing AAFES business, and Dave has continued oversight for sales development within NEXCOM, MCX, CGX and VCS, which is now being managed by Joe Sachtleben.
Prior Experience
Dave comes to us from Glass Baron, where he was the Director of Sales for the past 18 years. In addition to being responsible for all aspects of company sales, he personally handled key accounts in the Military, Grocery, C-Store, and Specialty Gift retail industries. One of his favorite accounts has always been the Military (all service branches), where he has enjoyed a great relationship with the buying teams for over 14 years. Dave managed over 90 independent reps and 10 in-house merchandisers, and created numerous programs and directives which have helped make his previous company very successful.

In his free time Dave enjoys scuba diving, fishing, boating, supporting Old Dominion University athletics, and helping his son with Little League Baseball and Boy Scouts.

Before joining USSC, Bob held several positions with Sony Corporation, all within the military sales channel. In 2009, he was promoted to Director of Worldwide Military Sales. Prior to Sony, he was an Account Executive with Mohawk Marketing Corporation calling on the Exchange HQ buying offices on behalf of Sony. He also spent time in the Rocky Mountain, Ohio Valley, and Golden Gate regions before moving to Virginia Beach in 1993.

Bob’s entire career had been selling to the Exchange system. Working for a broker as well as the manufacturer has given him a unique perspective on the business. Having visited almost every major military installation in the world provides added insight into the needs of our customer base.

Michael was appointed as the USSC Hampton Roads Regional Manager in October 2006. Having also worked for the Marine Corps Exchange in San Diego, he has a firsthand knowledge of how they operate, as well as their expectations of the independent rep agencies which support the stores.

An opportunity was created for one of our recent (USSC) San Diego based Electronics Sales Reps (ESRs) to step up to the plate and begin managing the Western half of the United States and Far East as our Western Zone Manager / Trainer. Those of you on our Electronics Team, who have visited the San Diego area military stores and/or trade show expos, are already familiar with Ariel. For the past 3 ½ years, Ed has served as our Hawaii Zone Manager. Through Ed’s leadership and abilities to work alongside our Account Executives, office staff, in-store representative team, as well as closely with store managers & associates, together, they have continued to build our USSC brand presence at the various Military Exchanges on Oahu. As of March 1, 2023, we are expanding Ed’s territory responsibility outside of Hawaii to also include Guam, Japan and South Korea. Ariel has done a great job managing the expanded region, and we appreciate all his efforts. This new change will allow Ed’s expertise to help USSC continue to grow in these military regions, and provide Ariel the time to dedicate more of his hours to the Western and Central Regions.
Growing up in Los Angeles, CA in the 80’s & 90’s, Ed has always been drawn to the retail side of the industry working with stores such as Pac Sun from his love and passion of surfing and skateboarding. His knowledge of fashion trends, sell thru analysis, and merchandising, has helped propel him into the wholesale side of the industry. In the mid 90’s Ed started working the Southern California territory as an outside sales rep for a number of top brands such as G-Shock watches and Hapuna Hawaii clothing. He quickly expanded his territory to cover all of California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas. Soon after, Ed was offered to work in-house as a West Regional Sales Manager for Freestyle watches and moved up to National Sales and eventually Director of Sales. Ed has experience in managing rep teams all around the US Market and has worked with major retailers such as Macy’s, REI, Zumiez, Pac Sun, Costco as well and Distributors worldwide. In 2015 Ed and his family moved to Hawaii and helped propel and grow the Reyn Spoon and Hinano Hawaii brands within the Military Exchanges for Hawaii, Guam and Japan.
